For the second consecutive year, as part of the French class, Our Lady of Assumption School stood out through a meaningful artistic initiative that highlighted student creativity and the importance of inclusion in education.
Grade 8 students from Mrs. Sergnese’s class took part in a unique art project using Artconnekt‘s individual kits. Through painting, textures, and patterns, students explored themes of identity, cultural heritage, and the interconnectedness of cultures, while expressing their own perspectives and lived experiences.
The resulting artworks—vibrant, expressive, and full of symbolism—reflect not only the students’ talent, but also the school’s strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where diversity is respected, valued, and celebrated. Art became a powerful educational tool, encouraging dialogue, empathy, and a sense of belonging among students.
At Artconnekt, we strongly believe that art education plays a vital role in building more inclusive, culturally aware, and connected school communities. We are proud to have supported this project and to collaborate with schools like Our Lady of Assumption that actively promote diversity and inclusion as part of their educational mission.
Congratulations to the students, Mr Jean-Luc Amoikon, Mrs. Ivana Sergnese, and the entire school community for this inspiring and impactful work!
Artconnekt is proud to support schools and school boards that are committed to implementing inclusive, arts-integrated practices that contribute to the development of socially aware and culturally informed learners.
